I've always wanted to create a space for people who don't necessarily fit neatly into traditional creative environments. Somewhere between an art school, workshop, collective and slightly weird gallery.

The Anti Art School

An art school for people who don't think they're artists.

A place to experiment, learn,
make a mess and make something weird.

Painting. Sculpture. Found objects. Welding. Drawing. Whatever.

No grades.

No right way to make something. No pressure to call yourself an artist. Just an opportunity to learn something, make something and see where it takes you — in a welcoming, inclusive space where you can experiment, get things wrong and try again without judgement.

Come make something!

The space

I've built my own studio from two shipping containers — a slightly mad, very practical labour of love.

I enjoyed the process of making the studio almost as much as making the things inside it. Designing it, figuring out how to build it, solving problems as I went, and gradually turning two fairly ordinary steel boxes into a space that feels completely my own.

That's really what the Anti-Art School is about for me. The joy isn't always in the finished thing. It's in making it.Learning as you go, getting things wrong, figuring them out, getting your hands dirty and seeing where the process takes you.

It's that feeling I'd love to share with other people.

A space for ideas to become things
